The Integral Roofing team has 20+ years of experience providing high-quality metal roofing and siding solutions throughout Michigan and Indiana.

There are many benefits to metal roofing and siding including longevity, appearance, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and durability. Metal roofs last a very long time (up to 100 years in some cases), are easy to maintain, and look great. Many people are using metal for the exteriors of their homes for one or more of these reasons. To learn more, read our blog post: The Benefits of Metal Roofing: Why Standing Seam Metal Roofing Stands Out.

A standing seam metal roof that is properly installed will last 50+ years, with some roofs lasting up to 100 years. This is a significant benefit compared to a typical asphalt shingle roof with an average lifespan of roughly 12-25 years.

Not all metal roofs are created equal. A quality, concealed fastener, standing seam metal roof, properly installed, does come with a higher up front price tag than a shingle roof or an exposed fastener metal roof. However, because of its longevity, it is actually less expensive over the course of its lifespan.

Yes, solar panels can be installed on a metal roof very easily. Here at Integral Roofing, we stock mounting brackets specifically designed for solar panel installation on a metal roof without making holes on the roof. If you'd like, we can provide examples of our recent projects that had solar panels installed. We are more than happy to work with your solar company to ensure that your solar panels can be installed safely and efficiently with no damage to the roof.

In some cases it is possible for a metal roof to be installed over an existing asphalt shingle roof, however here at Integral Roofing we often recommend removing the existing shingles to allow for a better installation of your new metal roof. This allows us to be able to inspect the decking for rot and deterioration and also allows us to apply all new underlayments directly to the roof deck which allows for the installation and adhesion of the Ice & Water shield in all the critical areas such as eaves, valleys, chimneys, skylights etc
